Why have we started writing the Overgrowth magazine?

Throughout human history, people have sought happiness and a fulfilling life. Over time, we’ve managed to overcome many of life’s challenges in pursuit of happiness. Today, we experience hunger less often and no longer fear being hunted by wild animals in our daily lives. But with all these achievements, do we actually feel happier inside?

Technology has succeeded in curing many of our external pains, yet we continue to suffer internally. We conquered diseases like cholera long ago, but still struggle with inner feelings like depression, anxiety, anger, and sadness.

The truth is that comfort alone isn’t enough for human happiness. We live with much more comfort today than our ancestors, but what we lack now is a sense of purpose and meaning in life.

Many people feel lost. They don’t know what they want or what to do with their lives. This lack of direction makes it difficult to make good decisions in challenging times and leads to intense feelings of anxiety or depression.

This is why we decided to create Overgrowth Magazine. In this magazine, we’ll explore topics that help you develop skills for achieving a meaningful and fulfilling life.

How will the Overgrowth magazine help us?

Humans cannot find happiness by only nurturing their material and external sides. A fulfilling life requires growth in both our external and internal dimensions. That’s why we decided to launch Overgrowth Magazine to support you in developing both aspects of your life.

The content in Overgrowth is divided into four sections: Philosophy, Psychology, Physical Health, and Economics—four areas that nurture different aspects of life, guiding you toward a fulfilling life.

  • Through philosophy, we’ll help you find meaning in your life and overcome inner struggles.
  • Psychology will show you how to train your mind to reach your life goals, covering topics like motivation, anxiety management, overcoming procrastination, and more.
  • With knowledge of physical health and economics, you’ll learn how to take care of the physical and financial aspects of your life.

What is the first issue of the Overgrowth magazine about?

The first issue of the Overgrowth magazine is 29 pages long and covers four sections: Psychology, Philosophy, Physical Health, and Economics, with the following topics:

Psychology: In this section, we explore how controlling your body’s dopamine levels can help you overcome a lack of motivation.

Philosophy: You’ll get to know Stoicism, a philosophical school of thought, and learn one of its techniques to deal with suffering.

Physical Health: Fasting is one way to boost your health and energy. This issue introduces different types of fasting.

Economics: Here, we dive into a behavioral economics concept called "mental accounting," which can help you manage your finances more effectively.

In each issue of Overgrowth, we’ll be here with you to learn and grow together.
